Joy Mukherjee was an Indian Actor and producer. He was the son of Sashidhar Mukherjee, who was successful producer and cofounder of Filmalaya Studios. Joy's uncle's were Director Subodh Mukherjee, actors Ashok Kumar, Anoop Kumar and Kishore Kumar.
Joy debuted his film career opposite Sadhana in Love in Shimla (1960). He then starred with Asha Parekh for several hits like 'Phir wohi Dil Laya Hoon'(1963), Love in Tokyo (1966), Ziddi (1964) and Hum Hindusthani (1960). With Saira Banu he acted in Aao Pyar Karein (1964), and Shagird (1967). His film opposite Sadhana Ek Musafir Ek Hasina (1962) was a Musical Hit. He acted with Rajashree in JeeChahta Hai (1964) and with Vyjayantimala in Ishara (1964). He produced and directed film Humsaya.(1964). His producer role resulted in his financial collapse and later he faded from the silver screen.
