                           PANDAVA VANAVASAM (1965)

Pandava vanavasam is a (1965) Indian Telugu language Hindu Mythological film produced by ASR Anjajaneyulu under Madhavi Productions banner and directed by Kamalakara Kameswara Rao. It stars N.T. Rama Rao, Savitri and S.V. Ranga Rao in lead roles. The music was composed by Ghantatasala. Playback singers were Ghantasala, P.Leela, P.Suseela, S.Janaki, and L.R. Eswari. Lyrics were written by Samudrala Sr., Kosaraju and Arudra. The film was recorded as superhit at the box office. The film was dubbed into Hindi as Pandav Banvas in 1973.
STORYLINE:
The film begins with the Rajasuya Yagnam - Duryodhana's (S.V.Ranga Rao) humiliation in the Mayasabha - Sakuni (Mudigonda Lingamurthy) plans to invite Dharmaraja (Gummadi) for a dice game resulting in Dharmaraja loosong everything including Draupadi (Savitri) and humiliation faced by Draupadi in the open court in the hands of Dussasana (Mikkilineni) and Lord Krishna (Kanta Rao) saving her from disgrace - Pandavas forced into exile in the second dice game. During their Aranyavasam, Bheema (N.T.Rama Rao) goes in search of Sowgandhika Pushmam and happens to meet Lord Anjaneya - gets his blessings and brings the flowers for Draupadi.- Goshayatra by Duryodhana and party to provoke and insult Pandavas- gets defeated by Chitrangadha (Dhulipala), the Gandharva King, - rescued by Bheema and Arjuna (M.Balaiah) - Encounter of Saindhava,(Rajanala), brother-in-law of Kauravas with Draupadi and trying to molest her, caught by Pandavas - disgrace him by shaving his head - Kauravas plot to separate Krishna and Pandavas and conspire to knit Duryodhana's son Lakshmana Kumara (Padmanabham) with Balarama's daughter Sashirekha (L.Vijayalakshmi) but Krishna and Ghatotkacha (Satyanarayana) foil their plans and finally ends with the marriage of Àbhimanyu (Haranath) and Sashirekha .

TRIVIA:
1. I could not present you the full movie of Pandava Vanavasam as it is not available in you tube.
I have a copy of this movie as a set of 3 CDs, but the picture quality is poor.
Now, I am only presenting you the playlist of the songs
2. Because of the above reasons I could not post it earlier. But after hearing from Shanta (Baby) that Hammi and Jaya were showing more interest in this movie I am posting it now.
It reminds me of their stay with me at Kodur, which was my first place of posting in CFTRI .( I was at Kodur from 1964 - 1968) Kodur was a small town and had only one theatre. My house was on the Station Road and the theatre was situated just about half a furlong from my house. Pandava Vanavasam was running in that then. Being Summer period we used to sleep on the roof top. The sound from the Theatre was clearly audible to us especially that of second show.We were all (Hammi, Jaya ,Baby and me too) enjoying the soundtrack of the movie very much. All songs were good.
Hammi and Jaya got the dialogues of the movie almost by heart. Sequence by sequence they were narrating.
Therefore, this post is dedicated to all the three Hammi, Jaya and Baby. I was enjoying their stay with me.
