EDDIE CALVERT (1922 - 1978) 

Alberto Edward "Eddie" Calvert was an English trumpeter, who enjoyed his greater success in the 1950s. Between 1953 and 1958 Calvert achieved seven instrumental hits on the UK singles chart including two chart toppers, "Oh, mein Papa" in 1953 and " Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom white" in 1955. Active during years 1952 - 1978. He is also known as : "Man with the Golden Trumpet".
His singles include 'oh Mein Papa' (1953); 'Cherry pink and Apple Blossom white' (1955); 'Strangers in Paradise' (1955);"John and Julie' (1955); 'Zambesi' (1956); ' Mandy (La Pense)' (1958); 'Little Serenade' (1958).
TRIVIA:
1. Dr Hunchi owned an LP record of Eddie Calvert - The Man with the Golden Trumpet . It contained all the above songs.
2.This song is also sung by Pat Boone.
3. The tune of "Cherry pink and Apple Blossom white' was adopted in hindi film " Ek Jhalak:" (1957) sung by Hemant kumar and Geeta Dutt.
