TRIVIA:
1. When I was in Tampa, Florida, USA in 2002 when Snigdha was born, Uday presented me a DVD of Kenny G - Greatest Hits. From then onwards I developed a liking for Kenny G.
2. In 2004, my college mate and friend, Mr S.K. Sood, who was working as Head of Food Processing Dept. in the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Hyderabad, invited me to attend his daughter's wedding, which was to be celebrated on 24th November, in Taj Deccan, Banjara Hills. It was a 5 star hotel. As he was a close friend of mine, I started early and I found myself alone reaching so early. Mr Sood received me and took me to a big hall where there were several chairs arranged for guests to sit.He asked me to sit there and left telling that he was busy with the marriage rituals. It is but natural that being the father of the bride he has responsibilities. So I relaxed in one of the chairs and waited for my other friends to arrive. The hall was big, with carpeted floor, the housekeepers of the hotel had sprayed fragrant room freshener. It was cool and pleasant. One of the hotel attendants served me with a glass of cool drink. The hotel had arranged speakers all around. The sound system was excellent. Music was being played in low volume (maintaining their 5 star standards) so that it won't disturb others. To my astonishment they were playing Kenny G music. Since nobody was around and the atmosphere was calm, cool, and pleasant,I just closed my eyes, relaxed in the chair and started listening to the tune of the music. My mind was singing along with the music. It was total concentration. I really enjoyed the music fully and not aware of the time that elapsed. I was disturbed by the arrival of my other friends and thus returned to the current moment. Instrumental jazz music has this unique quality. It has soothing effect over your mind. No lyrics to follow and understand. Only the melodious sound of the instrument to follow. Besides Kenny G 's saxophone is so melodious. Thus, I have developed more liking towards instrumental music.
