JULIE ANDREWS (1935 - PRESENT)
Dame Julie Andrews, DBE is an English actress, singer and Author. Billed as Britain's youngest 'Prime Lonna'(leading lady opera singing), she rose to prominence starring in Broadway Musicals such as 'My Fair Lady'(1956)and 'Camelot'. In 1957 Andrew's starred in the premiere of Rodgers and Hammerstein's written for Television Musical 'Cinderella'. Andrews made her feature film debut in 'Mary Poppins ' (1964) and won Academy Award for Best Actress. She starred in "The Sound of Music"(1965) and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress- Motion Picture Comedy or Musical. Between 1964 and 1986 she starred in 11 movies. After 1986 her workload decreased. Since the turn of millennium, however, her career has had a revival, with central roles in the 'Shrek' series, in 'The Princes Diaries' and its sequel and in 'Despicable Me' series
In 2000 Andrewa was made 'Dame' by Queen Elizabeth II for services to the performing arts. Andrews has won an Academy Award, BAFTA, five Golden Globes, three Grammys, two Emmy's, the AFI Life Achievement Award, the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement award, The Kennedy Centre Honors award, and Disney Legends Award.
Andrew's has received many honorary degrees in recognition of her distinguished career in entertainment.

1999 : Yale University : Doctor of Fine Arts.
2012 : Stony Brook University : Doctor of Letters.
