JIM REEVES (1923 - 1964)


James Travis Reeves was an American country and popular Music Singer, song writer. With records chartering from the 1950 to 1980s, he became well known as a practitioner of the Nashville Sound. Known as "Gentleman Jim", his songs continued to chart for years after his death. Reaves died in a crash of his private airplane. He is a member of both country music and Texas country Music Hall of fame. His genres include country, Nashville sound, gospel, gospel blues, western swings. He was active from 1948 - 1964. He has 44 studio albums,1 Live Album, 14 competitive Albums, 71 singles and 13 #1 singles.
His noted singles include - 1950s- "Mexican joe; Bimbo; Am I losing you; four walls
1960s - He will have to go; Danny boy; Welcome to my world; Love is no excuse; I guess I am crazy; I love you because; I want to forget you; Distant Drums;
1970s and 1980s - Nobody's Fool; Missing you; Am I that easy to forget; You are the only good thing that has happened to me; Have you ever been lonely; I fall to pieces.
